A Long Awaited Temple in.....Egypt?

The future temple at Jerusalem and the future temple of New Jerusalem are frequently discussed as we quickly approach the Second Coming of our Lord. We tend to overlook, however, the temple that is to be built in Egypt.

Isaiah prophesied of a temple that was to be built in Egypt:

"In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord.
And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
And the Lord shall be known to aEgypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a bvow unto the Lord, and perform it."
(Isaiah 19
: 19-21)
From Isaiah we learn that through great tribulation, the Egyptian people will be blessed with a temple in which they can make covenants with the Lord that will bind their families together in the Presence of God forever. These verses provide great comfort to me as I observe the trials and sacrifices of the Arab spring. The promise is sure that they will be delivered from their oppressors, they will be endowed, and they will enjoy communion with the saints:

" In that day shall Israel be athe third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a bblessing in the midst of the land: Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and aIsrael mine binheritance." (Isaiah 19: 24-25)
Isaiah also saw the day when Egypt and the Levant will enjoy peace, communion, and coexistence. I love the end of the when the Lord says, "Blessed be Egypt my people." When I see that phrase I remember that Jesus Christ spent his early childhood growing up in Egypt. Truly this is a land and a people that He loved, loves, and will always love. He hears their cries and His arm is stretched out still.

Therefore, let us watch carefully as the way is paved through which Temples will be built in New Jerusalem, Old Jerusalem, and Egypt.
